Liposuction (lipo) slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits. Liposuction improves your body contours and proportion, but it is not a treatment for obesity.
The surgeon's experience and your comfort with him or her are just as important as the final cost of the surgery. We also recommend that you read what other patients say about their experience.
Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity. It is not a way of losing weight, nor is it a substitute for proper diet and exercise.
Areas for liposuction
Liposuction is usually used to remove fat from these areas of the body:
Cheeks, chin and neck
Liposuction can be performed alone or in combination with other procedures, such as a tummy tuck, facelift, breast enlargement, breast reduction or BBL.
Fat can be transferred from one part of the body to another (such as the breasts or buttocks). It's also known as a fat graft or lipomodelling.
Fat transfer breast augmentation uses lipo to take fat from other parts of your body and inject it into your breasts. Fat transfer can also be combined with breast enlargement using silicone implants.
Brazilian butt lift (BBL) is a surgical procedure where we use liposuction to remove unwanted fat from one or more parts of the body, and graft the fat cells to the buttock to enhance and reshape the buttock. In Norway, BBL has replaced buttock enlargement with silicone implants.
